Message from the President
ISA Brazos Section
Newsletter
September / October 2005
I
would like to thank everyone for attending our workshop meetings this summer.
Naturally, as it starts into our New Year, the Program Committee is the first
committee to get established and running on all cylinders. A good way to pin
point our technical luncheon dates would be to follow:
Luncheons are on the first Thursday after the first Wednesday of
each month starting September 8th.
Our first technical luncheon was by Ms. Patricia (Pat) Williams of Dow Chemical
Company, Process Analyzer Specialist, on “HRVOC (Highly Reactive Volatile
Organic Compounds) Monitors for Flares and Cooling
Towers: Analytical Opportunities and Solutions.”
“Outstanding”
Our second
technical luncheon, October 6th, was by Charles B. Pennington, P.E.,
Engineering Specialist, a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers
staff from Austin, Texas. The presentation was on
Engineering Ethics including: rule changes; continuing education requirements;
enforcement case statistics, and actual cases.
A few technical difficulties, but we
over came and pressed forward.
We moved our ISA Brazos Section Golf Tournament to September 19th of
2005 due to several conflicts. The Golf Tournament Chairperson was Ms. Staci
Walden of DSM Nutritional. The Golf Tournament took place Monday the 19th
at Riverside Country Club, Lake Jackson, Texas with great success.
On November 3rd,
Ben Cox and Denis Lee of Rockwell Automation will present “Different Fieldbusses
and why they exist”. We will close out the year 2005 with a membership activity.
Let’s work together to have
an outstanding year for Brazos Section. Join us for lunch, to eat a good meal,
learn something dealing with our technical arena, and to meet with our peers.
Will J Brooks
